Meet The Team
Sheri Pettit

Education:

  • B.S. Kineisiology, Penn State University
  • MS in Sports Management, California University of PA
  • Plant-Based Nutrition Certification, Cornell University

Sheri Pettit is the owner of The Port KC Fitness and Performance. Sheri holds a BS in Kinesiology from Penn State University, an MS in Sports Management from California University of PA, and a Plant-Based Nutrition Certification from Cornell University.  As a former Division I track & field athlete, she understands the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the quality of life it brings.  Sheri lives by what she taught in the classroom; being a former health and physical educator.  She values fitness and proper nutrition as having worked with athletes on youth, high school and the collegiate level.  Because of her personal busy lifestyle, she realizes the high demand on professionals but strongly believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She would like to see people of all levels of fitness and nutrition meet their goals. After all, if you don’t take care of your body where are you going to live?

Brian Allen

Certification: NCCPT

Experience: 12

Education: Butler County Community College

Brian has experience in a variety of competitive sports. He excelled in track & field and football in which both he made it to the national level. From high school, Brian went on to play football at the collegiate level. During this time, he assisted in training high school athletes competing in football, track & field, and lacrosse. After college, he continued on to compete in boxing and MMA. He also played arena football for 4 years. Shortly after, he began to focus on his own body and started physique competing.

 

The mindset Brian possesses when it comes to fitness and overall health is compassion for his clientele. While focusing on physical aspects of fitness, he emphasizes the importance of mental training as well. “It’s a rewarding experience to witness success in clients as they set and exceed goals. Training releases endorphins for clients and trainers alike.” He stresses the importance of a positive environment so that everyone can have the experience they are striving for. You must elevate your mind in order to elevate your body.”

Tyjuan Porter

Certification: Personal Trainer Certification, NSCA.

Experience: 6 years

 

 

Tyjuan Porter brings six years of experience working with a variety of clients including athletes who need to prepare their mind and body for their sport. As an athlete, Tyjuan excelled in high school football and then on to the semi-pro level.  After suffering a career ending injury, Tyjaun then turned his focus to help others.

 

“I am passionate about helping others successfully conquer their personal weight loss goals.” This desire coupled with his knowledge and experience pushed him to earn his Personal Trainer Certification through the NSCA.

 

When he is not working with clients, Tyjuan teaches personal training courses at Pinnacle Career Institute to encourage new instructors to promote safe and healthy training programs. “Teamwork is everything, and with God and determination anything is possible.”

Ke'lan Mitchell

I am a Natural and NPC physique competitor with 1st place class finishes in both organizations.

 

I believe that physical fitness is not only a great way to improve your health but it also is a confidence builder that creates a natural feeling of euphoria. As a trainer it is my responsibility to help you reach your body goals, improve physical and mental health and instill confidence.

Nick Johnson

Certification: ISSA CPT, ACE Sports & Conditioning

Education: B.A. in Physical Education, University of Central Missouri; Masters in Organizational Development, Masters of Arts in Fundraising, Avila University

 

Nick Johnson has been involved in the competitive sports world since his days in middle school. Nick had the opportunity to play high school and collegiate sports as well as work with different fitness professionals who emphasized in the area of sports performance. After finishing his playing career Nick got into the field of education. He holds a degree in Physical education and has been working in the education field for 10 years. Throughout that time Nick has worked specifically with athletes of all ages by helping them with Sports Performance training.

Nick’s belief is that everyone has the opportunity to reach their goals. It doesn’t matter how big or small the goal is, it can be accomplished. Nick believes that the key is to make sure that you consistently work towards each goal and eventually it will become a reality. Success to Nick is something that is possible for everyone as long as we are willing to put in the work for it.
